SAFE Haven Volunteer training coming up

Peggy Emanuel, administrator of Crisis Intervention Services, and Sheila Korick-Houston, volunteer/hotline coordinator of Safe Haven, Inc. of Pike County, look over the current list of names for the upcoming 60 Hour Crisis Intervention Class for new volunteers. Safe Haven, a not-for -profit agency, provides services for victims/survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. There are many different ways to volunteer. Certified volunteers may cover the 24-hour hotline, work in the office, volunteer at the correctional facility and provide community outreach services. The new training class will start on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and will end on Monday, Nov. 3. The only other Saturday class will be Nov. 1.
