State Senator Lisa Baker is pictured with artist John Kolbek at The Columns Museum earlier this month at the opening of a new temporary art exhibit titled: Night Flight on Canvas, which features Pike County artist Kolbek’s work. Kolbek’s works offer a surreal look at religion, children’s hopes and fears, and other curiosities and questions that might be on the mind of a contemporary artist who is thoughtful and introspective. Baker took the time out to view the exhibit, and the latest vintage clothing display at the Museum, which covers hats, ladies gloves, accessories and handbags, spanning two centuries. The Kolbek exhibit, sponsored by Davis and Judy Chant, will be featured through the end of December. The Columns is open Wednesday’s, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m., weather permitting, or by appointment.
