Short film celebrating women with wrinkles to be made in Wayne and Pike

MILFORD — The short film "Signs of Aging" will be produced in Tafton and Newfoundland in early September, supported by a grant from The Greater Pike County Community Foundation's Richard L. Snyder Fund.
The film is a dark-comedy about a mysterious woman who tries to stop a pushy skin-cream salesperson selling anti-aging potions. The film challenges the aggressive marketing tactics in the beauty industry while also championing women over 40.
“I am saddened by aggressive advertisements and news programs telling women how to 'correct' the 'flaws' on their skin," said the film’s creator, Tara Gadomski, a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania. "This can lead to deep self-esteem problems. This film will fight back and can help women to understand that signs of aging are actually signs of living.”
"Signs of Aging" stars a diverse cast of women. The principal actors coming to film in the area all have high-level film and TV experience.
Antu Yacob has appeared in Law and Order SVU and is currently on cinema screens in the Sundance Institute-supported film "Night Comes On."
Kelley Rae O’Donnell has a supporting role in "The Irishman," directed by Martin Scorsese.
Bisserat Tseggai has co-star roles in dozens of TV shows including "Blue Bloods," "Billions," "Orange is the New Black," and "Luke Cage."
Melanie Martinez, from "The Goodnight Show" on Sprout, is an actor many parents will remember.
The film will also employ several local actors in supporting roles.
Gadomski has performed roles in "Orange is the New Black" and "The Blacklist." As a writer, she was accepted into the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriting Intensive in Philadelphia. "Signs of Aging" will be her debut as a director.
“I was honored the project received a grant from the Greater Pike County Community Foundation: Richard L. Snyder Fund," Gadomski said. "Not only does the grant help with production expenses, but it also shows that community leaders found this to be a project of merit. I’m proud to make a film in my hometown area with local support like this.”
The film is still fundraising to meet its budget goals. "Signs of Aging" is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
