Solving History's Mysteries at The Columns

Three of Pike County’s most historically well-versed residents recently converged in the office of the Pike County Historical Society Museum Director, Lori Strelecki.

"I felt kind of like a rookie in the presence of Skip, Centa and George; these three really know their Pike County history; names, dates, places and faces," Strelecki said.

The three local history aficionados, Skip Gregory, Centa Quinn and Pike County Historian George Fluhr discussed some of the photographs being captioned for Gregory's latest work-in-progress, a new book featuring black and white photographs detailing the area’s history.

Gregory’s long-time hobby of collecting photographs and postcards of Milford and Pike County led him to his first 352-page book, “All Roads Lead to Milford, Pennsylvania,” which contained more than 600 postcards and images of Pike County’s past and present.

Strelecki, Quinn and Fluhr recently lent their historical expertise in helping Gregory caption his collection of photographs.

The Columns Museum is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. For more information, visit the museum’s website at pikecountyhistoricalsociety.org.
