— A full day of music is planned for Barryville's Pumpkinfest 2018, along with free family fun like contests, costumes, and pumpkin decorating.
Three singer/songwriters will be debuting their latest original music at "Sullivan Sings!" at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. Laurie Stuart will perform “Where We Are," Marc Satz “The Family Way,” and Brad Georgi of Spunday Mourning “I Thought We’d Know.”
“We’re so happy to be collaborating with the Greater Barryville Chamber of Commerce, to provide a showcase for Sullivan County talent,” said Nick Roes, who wrote the grant for the Barryville Area Arts Association. “Pumpkinfest is known for its great music, and the chance to hear original music for the first time makes it something even more special.”
The three songs are the first three releases of a new music label and the Sullivan Sings! Project, funded in part a Sullivan County Arts and Heritage Grant and administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. Local artists also were recruited to design the album covers.
The grant also provided for the creation of the YouTube Channel “Sullivan Sings!” to showcase local talent. For a sneak preview of the new music, search for, visit, and subscribe free to that channel on YouTube.
