— A free program that reveals the spiritual side of eminent conservationist and former Pennsylvania Governor Gifford Pinchot is planned at Pinchot’s former home, Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Guest speaker Edgar Brannon, former director of Grey Towers and a longtime historic preservationist in the region, will explain how Pinchot’s strong spirituality guided him throughout his lifetime and influenced his decision making.
The lecture is one in a series at Grey Towers that illustrates the many accomplishments of the Pinchot family. Most prominent is Gifford, who founded and served as first chief of the U.S. Forest Service and was a two-term Governor of Pennsylvania.
Following the program, the Grey Towers Heritage Association will sponsor a light reception so that participants can further explore the subject one-on-one with the guest speaker.
