Gov. Gifford Pinchot, right, advised President Franklin D. Roosevelt on his Civilian Conservation Corps program during the Depression. The topic will be discussed at a 5:30 p.m. lecture on May 10 by historian Peter Osborne, to be presented at Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford. Osborne will also sign copies of his new book, “We Can Take It” which will be available for sale in the Grey Towers Interpretive Book Store. The lecture is a part of the ongoing “Big Read,” sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts.
