'The Nature of Quilting'

— The Milford Valley Quilters’ Guild will present its 2015 show, “The Nature of Quilting,” on June 27-28, at Delaware Valley Central School.

Members have been working hard for the show, which will feature a display of beautiful handmade quilts, a quilt raffle, a boutique of handmade items, a silent auction, quilts for sale, vendors, and much more.

New officersAt their May social, guild members welcomed their new officers for 2015-16:

President — Marie Sandhauer
Vice-President — Nancy Halloren

Secretary — Karen Batalan
Treasurer — Nancy Giancontieri

During the swearing in ceremony, outgoing president Carol Lawrence presented each officer with a spool of different-colored threads, which symbolized the duties of their office.

Everyone enjoyed a pot luck dinner, with mystery quits and tops revealed and prizes awarded:

Pins were presented to members for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of membership. Carol Lawrence received a basket of fat quarters and notions in appreciation of her year of hard work for the guild.
