MILFORD — Many people think of back to school when September arrives. On Sept. 20, the United Way of Pike County thinks of Day of Caring and the 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive. Here is the opportunity for the community and non-profit human service agencies to share the spirit of volunteerism to clean up, clean out, and refresh for the coming months ahead. All around the County you will see people painting, cleaning, filing, gardening, building and, even more importantly, carrying on the tradition of community giving and sharing. For a great jump start to the day, breakfast will be served beginning at 7:45 a.m. at both the Wallenpaupack Area High School and the Delaware Valley High School. The actual “work day” begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The United Way needs you. If you are a non-profit Pike County Human Service Agency in need of assistance, or if you are interested in participating in the Day of Caring as a volunteer, please check their website, www.unitedwaypike.org, for the application.
