Award-winning boutique wines featured MILFORD — Five different wines from one prize-winning California vineyard will be featured as the Laurel Villa Country Inn & Restaurant in Milford presents “An Evening With J. Lohr,” a wine-tasting event on Friday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. “For the first time we’ll be highlighting five wines from one vintner,” said Janice Halsted, Innkeeper at the Laurel Villa. “Jerry Lohr started his winery in Paso Robles, California in 1971. Since then he has expanded to Monterey, and his exceptional wines are recognized as among the finest in the world.” Guests will enjoy three red wines - Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon, Los Osos Merlot and South Ridge Syrah - as well as two whites - Riverstone Chardonnay and Carol’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Each wine will be presented and discussed by Tom Rogari of Capital Wines & Spirits. Chef Carl will create a selection of delicious hors d’oeuvres to accompany each wine, and guests who choose to stay for dinner will receive 15% off their entree. The Laurel Villa is also offering Comfort Food Weekends all fall and winter. The $25, four-course prix fixe menu includes soup, salad, dessert and a choice of several delicious comfort food favorites every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including Yankee Pot Roast, Shepherd’s Pie, Lasagna, Beef Stew, Braised Pork Shank, Chicken Pot Pie and Eggplant Parmigiana.
