Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers’ (WMCHC) Outreach and Enrollment staff encourage anyone needing assistance obtaining or changing health insurance through state-based Pennie.com to give them a call. Long-time Exchange Assister Rebecca Mead along with newly hired Kyle Davis are currently accepting appointments in anticipation of the November 1st start of open enrollment.

“It’s a good idea to make your appointment early,” said Mead. “We book up quickly.”

Open enrollment begins November 1, 2022 and continues through January 15, 2023. However, to have coverage effective January 1, 2023, eligible consumers must have their plan selected by December 15, 2021. Premiums must then be paid by the 1st of the month before insurance starts.

Outreach and Enrollment services remain free of charge to everyone, not just patients of WMCHC physician practices. All appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling 570-251-6569 or 570-251-6554. Masking is required in the office, located at 630 Park Street in Honesdale.

“Navigating Pennie can seem overwhelming, especially for those who haven’t done it previously,” said Mead. “We’re here to help anyone who reaches out to us.”
