Bishop to visit on anniversary

PORT JERVIS, N.Y. The Reverend Robert Alan Rimbo, Bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod, will preside at worship at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Port Jervis, on Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m. The Metro N.Y. Synod is part of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and comprises the 230 congregations in Long Island, New York City, and the Mid-Hudson Region. St. Peter’s is celebrating is 150th anniversary this year; this is the highlight worship service of our year of celebration. All who seek God are welcome to worship and receive the Eucharist. Bishop Rimbo most recently served as Pastor of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in the City of New York and immediately prior to that served as Bishop of the Southeast Michigan Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. A graduate of Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, (1972) and Christ Seminary - Seminex, St. Louis, Missouri, (1976) he is married to Lois, an elementary school Reading and Language Arts Specialist. They are the parents of two adult children.
