Milford — Pastor Rob Elliott was called as the Milford Bible Church’s new senior pastor this summer. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter of spiritual renewal for the church. Pastor Rob’s appointment followed an extensive search effort that spanned the course of 20 months, over 500 resumes, and many prayers by church and community members. Mark Meola, head of Milford Bible Church’s pastoral search committee, described how the flood of resumes nearly stopped once they received Pastor Rob’s credentials. “We went from 30 resumes a week at the beginning of the search to about 1 or 2 … it is phenomenal what God has done throughout this process. Rob has a pastor’s heart, a genuine love for people, and is grounded in the Word of God, all defining qualities we had been seeking.” An overwhelming majority vote by church members confirmed Pastor Rob’s appointment on Aug. 6, as it happens, the same day he and his wife, Beth, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Pastor Rob sees his call to serve at Milford Bible Church as unique in that the reach of his ministry is able to span across three states - Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. To people of all ages and walks of life, he shares a message of hope and “true freedom that is only found in Christ.” Originally from Ontario, Canada, Pastor Rob became an ordained minister in 1987 and served as senior pastor in two congregations prior to his current commission at Milford Bible Church. A graduate of the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, with a B.A. in Business Administration, he attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, N.Y., and then obtained a Master of Theology Degree in Pastoral Ministries from Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Beth, have two children, Joanna and J.D. All are welcome to attend Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. or 6:30 p.m., or one of Milford Bible Church’s many ministries and outreach programs including Celebrate Recovery, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), Men and Woman’s Bible Studies, and more.
