Alfred E. Smith

Alfred E. Smith of Port Jervis, N.Y., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Milford Senior Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was 89.

Son of the late Harry and Marie Peichl Smith, he was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Albany, N.Y.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and Korea.

He worked as the Night Foreman for Eastern Alloys, Maybrook, N.Y.

He was married to the late Elizabeth P. Hixson on Oct. 30, 1947.

He was a past member of Minisink Lanes Bowling Leagues.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth Smith and his wife, Donna, of Glen Spey, N.Y., and their children, Jacob, Aaron and Rachel Smith; Russell Smith and his wife, Janet, of Milford, Pa., and their children, Darren Smith and his, wife, Dr. Marion Scoggins, Bryan Smith and his wife, Melissa Vazquez, and Kyle Smith; and daughter, Christine Smith and her husband, Edward of Ocala, Fla.

Visitation will be held at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Port Jervis, on Friday, Feb. 5, from 11 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, N.Y.
