Alfred Richard Burke Jr., born August 12, 1942, in Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully at Newton (NJ) Hospital on March 4, 2024, at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his father Alfred Richard Burke Sr. and his mother Eleanor Walczak Burke, both of Staten Island.
Alfred, who was known as Rich by friends and family, is survived by his two sons Richard (Kara) Burke of Rochester, NY, and Brian (Cara) Burke of Moline, Il. He is also survived by his sister Eileen (Ray) Merrill, brother Dennis (Barbara) Burke, brother Kevin Burke, his five grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews.
Rich worked for Con Edison on Staten Island for almost 50 years. He loved his work, but also loved enjoying his dream of retiring to the mountains and felt blessed to spend the last 27 years living in Milford, Pa. In respect of his wishes, his family will honor his memory privately.
