Bruce B. Parsons

Bruce B. Parsons passed peacefully into the arms of his creator, with his wife, Yoko, and son, George, at his side. He was 75.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Joyce Parsons; and his brother Douglas. He is also survived by brother Richard of Kennebunk, Maine; daughter-in-law Sayaka; and grandsons Kosaka and Minouru.
He was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Long Island, N.Y. He attended schools in Long Island and Edgartown, Mass., and graduated from Port Jervis, N.Y., high school in 1958, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1962.
As an engineer, his postings included Germany and Vietnam. Following his military service, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied nuclear physics. Upon leaving Berkeley, he worked on seismic exploration throughout the world with Western Geophysical. He was President of Robertshaw Controls, Orient, and chaired a joint venture company in Japan between Allen Bradley and Nippon Denso. During his later years, until shortly before his death, he focused on developing a wide spectrum of new technologies in such diverse fields as health care, energy, and radiology. He was co-holder of over 70 patents.
Family and friends were received at the family home in Oiso, Japan.
