Carol Ann Carroll of Delray Beach, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Bethesda Hospital, Boynton Beach, Fla. She was 77.

Daughter of the late Frederick and Beatrice (Wise) Hoff, she was born July 29, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was a retired accountant who worked in Brooklyn, N.Y., for Hamilton Federal S&L and Augustana Nursing Home.

Carol was very active and enjoyed sports, fishing, and horseback riding. She volunteered with the Wounded Warrior Project, where she made many cherished friendships.

For the last two years Carol was a parishioner at Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach, which brought her great comfort.

Carol’s greatest joy was being a mother to her two sons and grandmother to her four beautiful granddaughters. Two of her granddaughters lovingly called her Crabby, which was ironic since everyone would say Carol was the nicest and kindest person they know. Carol remained close friends with her ex-husband, Thomas Carroll, and was grateful for his caring and support, especially during her recent health struggles.

Carol is survived by her sons, Gregory Carroll, and his wife, Michelle, of Middletown, N.J., and Thomas Carroll and his wife, Kelli, of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Samantha, Madison, and Riley; sister, Marion Denehy; and brother, Frederick Hoff.

Carol was recently predeceased by her sister Ellen L. Carroll and longtime companion, Ralph Castellano of Milford, Pa.

Family will receive friends at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2021, from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Jan. 8, at 5 p.m, with the Rev. Keith Raser officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach.
