Charles F. Richardson
Charles F. Richardson of Milford, Pa., died on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at home. He was 91.
Son of the late Albert C. and Harriet (Keeler) Richardson, he was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Brooklyn. He was married to Rose (Stanziola) Richardson on Nov. 27, 1948, in Richmond Hill, N.Y.
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal service for 38 years and had delivered mail to the same route for 25 years in Freeport, N.Y. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran, and was one of three men of a rifle platoon that survived Battle of the Bulge. He is the recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, three Battle Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster.
He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and The Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years; son, John Richardson; daughter, Linda Richardson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Charles and Daniel Richardson.
A service was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on Jan. 19, with Carol Cowan, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial took place in Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry, Pa.
