Cory Dean Erk

Cory Dean Erk of Honesdale, Pa., and formerly of Hawley, Pa., died Tuesday, Oct.5, 2021. He was 20.

Son of Jason Robert Erk and Tonya Myers, Cory was born March 2, 2001, in Clarksville, Tenn.

He was predeceased by his aunt, Dawn Erk, and his paternal grandfather, Dean Erk.

He was a security officer at St. Moritz in Milford, Pa. Cory was a member of Forest Volunteer Fire Department, Station 81, for five years, Lackawaxen Ambulance, Squad 21. Cory loved helping to care for Tucker, their horse, at Vanderbeek’s Farm.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Burkit) Erk, with whom he was expecting his first baby in April 2022; his grandmother, Alice Erk of Hawley; his father, Jason Erk; his mother and father-in-law, Kara and Tom Harka of Bath; and father and mother-in-law, Bill and Megon Burkit of Palmerton.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, Pa.
