Donald Joseph ('RaRa') Ferrara

Donald Joseph (“RaRa”) Ferrara of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 66.

Son of the late Biaggio Benny Ferrara and the late Gemma Rose Tamasi Ferrara, he was born Sept. 8, 1953, in Elmhurst, N.Y.

Don married Gail Ann Schook on April 29, 1979, in Queens, N.Y

He worked for 36 years for Con Edison in Brooklyn. Don was a member of the Utility Workers Union of America-AFL-CIO Local 1-2, New York, N.Y.

A family statement read, “Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved to collect Lionel Trains and Hess Trucks. Earlier in life he loved to hunt, deep sea fish, and drive his 1957 Chevy Bel Air.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Ann Ferrara, at home; daughter, Roseann Ferrara of Farmingdale, N.Y.; son, Anthony Ferrara and his fiancé, Nikki ,of Dingman’s Ferry, Pa.; brother, Anthony Minchilli of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Charles Schook of LaGuna Hills, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Ann Ventura and her husband, Ed, of Lake Forest, Calif., and Frances Schook of Pittston, Pa.; granddaughters, Adrianna Deptula and Giamarie Deptula; several nieces and nephews; good friends, Peter Ertola of Dingmans Ferry and John Napoli of the State of Florida.

He was predeceased by his brother, Benny Ferrara, and sister-in-law Janice Schook

There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private.

Cremation will be at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pa.
