Emily Freeburne Macaulay
Emily Freeburne Macaulay of Port Jervis, N.Y., a former Paterson, N.J.. resident for most of her life, died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, N.Y. She was 87.
Daughter of the late James and Emily (Freeburne) Deatcher ,she was born on Feb. 25, 1928, in Glasgow, Scotland. She was married to the late Joseph Macaulay, who predeceased her in 1981.
She was a retired electronic inspector for Data Scope, Paramus, N.J.
Survivors include her son, James Macaulay of New Hampshire; two daughters, Emily Ciaurro of New Hampshire and Dawn Cholewka of Port Jervis; four grandchildren, Michael Ciaurro, Amanda Sauer, Heather Cholewka, and Ashley Cholewka; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Madeline, and Jackson. She was predeceased by one sister, Sadie MacPhail, in 2001.
Friends may call at The Church of the Good Shepard & St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 110 West Catharine St., Milford, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Good Shepard & St, John the Evangelist Episcopal Church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Van A. Bankston officiating.
