Ethel Brewer Kately
Ethel Brewer Kately of Matamoras, a lifetime area resident, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at home with her family by her side. She was 72.
Daughter of the late George Cassimore and the late Edith Brooks Cassimore, she was born April 5, 1943, in Sussex, N.J.
She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for the adult residence Homestead in Branchville, N.J.
A family statement read: "Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who always put her family first. She was a strong willed woman who would give help to anyone. She was a person who was always upbeat and happy with a good sense of humor."
Survivors include three daughters, Roxanne Williams and her husband, R.B. of Matamoras, Debra Brewer of Milford, and Michelle Brewer of Sparta, N.J.; one son, Christopher Brewer of Matamoras; three brothers, William Cassimore and his wife, Mary, of the State of Maine; Glenn Cassimore and his wife, Kay, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Wayne Cassimore of Newton, N.J.; one sister, Anna Deppner of Andover, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Kasey Decker and her husband, David, Heather Murphy, Donald Murphy and his wife, Jessica, Brian Brewer, Gregory Brewer, Floyd Aaron Brewer, Marie Brewer, Tyler Brewer and Nicholas Brewer; seven great-grandchildren, Madison Decker, Little Dean Freeman, Janech Freeman, Justice Freeman, Ayla Murphy Avri Murphy, and Aveya Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Floyd Allen Brewer; and two sisters, Loree Sutton and Avar Talley.
There will be no visitation. A private funeral service with burial will be in Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to cancer research.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis.
