    Gary Evan Dean of Rockaway Township, N.J., died at home on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, following a long illness. He was 74.

    He was born in Wayne, N.J., and formerly resided in Jefferson Township.

    He served in the U.S. Air Force during Peacetime.

    He worked as a supervisor at United Parcel Service, Parsippany, N.J., and retired in 1995 after 31 years.

    He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dover, where he was very involved serving on the council, the Bell Choir, and performing volunteer work. He was founder of the Dean Scholarship and the DiPietro Scholarship, both at the church. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

    Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sandra; two daughters, Terry Ziemba and her husband, Rick, of Milford, Pa., and Erin DeKorte of Rockaway, N.J.; his son, Brett, and his wife, Suzanne, of Milford, Pa.; ten grandchildren David, Danielle, Heather, Jesse, Alexa, Michael, Madison, Gary, Micah, and Kyle; great-grandson, Derek; sister Arlene Solimine and her husband, Bob, of Damascus, Pa., and his aunt Ruth Dean of North Haledon, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Audrey.

    Visitation was scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, N.J.

    Funeral services were set for 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 East Blackwell St., Dover, N.J.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 East Blackwell St., Dover, N.J.
