Glen E. Hunter
Glen E. Hunter of Matamoras, Pa., died on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at home with his loving family beside him. He was 84.
Son of Howard and Vera Dice Hunter, he was born on Feb. 23, 1933, in Curry, N.Y.
He proudly served during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy.
He retired as a truck driver for Yellow Freight Trucking Co. at Maybrook, N.Y. He was a member of the Clareyville Dutch Reformed Church and the American Legion Post, Kingston, N.Y.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Patricia Wheeling, at home; his former wife, Hazel Haitan Hunter of Matamoras; son, Glen Hunter and Nancy of Roxboro, N.C.; daughter, Vivian Hunter and Rick of Napanoch, N.Y.; daughters, Kathy Hunter of Sparrowbush, N.Y., Judy Amato and her husband, Joe, of Sparrowbush, and Jane Corlette and her husband, Bill, of the State of Florida; sons, Ronald Wehner of Matamoras and Ray Wehner and his wife, Linda, of Milford, Pa.; sister, Myrtle Kortright of Neversink, N.Y.; grandchildren, Vincent, Chelsea, Alex, William Jr., Amanda, Jessica, Jeanine, Jennifer, Joelynn, Juli, and Joey; and great-grandchildren, Maleah, Devin, Kalani, McKyla, Mackenzie, Jayse, and Tommy.
He was pre-deceased by his son Gary; two sisters, Arlene D’Lamarter and Grace Loomis.
Glen will also be missed by Pat’s children, Tina, Joseph, Michele, Diane, Marianne and her grandchildren Alisa, Michael, Gina, Harriet, Andrew, Alex, Benjamin, and Jenna.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 7, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Amy Garrett officiating. Interment will take place at the Clareyville Cemetery, Clareyville, N.Y.
