Harry C. Beals

Harry C. Beals of Shohola, Pa., died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 78.
Son of the late Clifford and Nellie (Henry) Beals, he was born in Eaton Rapids, Mich., on Feb. 25, 1939.
He was a retired police officer for the New York Police Department and a retired postal clerk for Port Jervis Post Office, Port Jervis.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph the Worker, Council #471, Port Jervis, and Marsch-Kellogg American Legion Post #139, Milford, Pa.; and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1957 to 1961.
urvivors include his wife, Catherine “Kay” (Weidler) Beals; children, Marie Beals and her fiancé, Chris Rapp, Janice Beals and her fiancé, John Desroches, and Thomas Beal and his wife, Monique; grandchildren, Jennifer and Samantha Collins, Alexander and Victoria Beals and Rachel Beals; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson Richard.
Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on March 23. A memorial service followed at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Newcomb officiating.
