James Edward Tice
James Edward Tice of Yulan, N.Y., died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in East Stroudsburg, Pa. He was 61.
He was born Feb. 4, 1960, in Middletown, N.Y., the son of John Richard Tice Sr. and Irene Marion Ruth Conklin Tice.
James married Nancy Marie Tucker 38 years ago on June 25, 1983, in the Town of Greenville, N.Y.
He retired as a mechanic from United Rentals in Newburgh, N.Y.
James was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #825 in New Hampton, N.Y., and the Highland Hookers Fishing Club.
A family statement read: “When James wasn’t spending time with friends and family, you could find him with his best friend Gunner Patrick headed downtown to get him chicken nuggets. James had a unique ability to touch people’s hearts and put a smile on their faces. He made everyone feel as if they were one of his own, and his presence filled the room. James enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved spending time hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling to the mountains with his loving wife, and family by his side. James will be truly missed by all, whether they knew him for a moment or a lifetime.”
Surviving are his faithful companion and best friend, his Boxer Gunner Patrick Tice, at home; wife, Nancy Marie Tice, at home; daughter, Kristina Tice and her fiancé, Lisa Arroyo, of Palm Bay, Fla.; sons, Joshua Tice and his wife, Karen Deer Park, N.Y., and Jordan Tice and his wife, Carroll, of Eldred, N.Y.; sisters, Sharon Harraman and her husband, Doug, of Marysville, Ohio, Luana Keyes and her husband, David, of Milford, Pa., and Patricia Guerriere of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, John Tice Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Hampstead, N.C.; grandson, Jackson Tice; brother-in-law, Scott Robertson and his wife, Michele, and their family of Sparrow Bush, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister Cheryl Tice.
Visitation was at Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis, N.Y., on Jan. 5, followed by a funeral service. Cremation was to be at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford.
