Joseph Melito

    Joseph T. Melito of Middletown, N.Y., died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown. He was 83.

    Son of the late Edward Melito and the late Dorothy (Danker) Melito, he was born Aug. 26, 1932, in the Bronx.

    He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He was a self-employed diesel mechanic. He was a tinkerer who enjoyed taking the time to fix thing.

    Survivors include the love of his life, Diane Evans of Middletown; two daughters, Laurie S. Post and husband, David, of Milford, Pa., and Jaimie Melito of the Poconos, Pa.; stepson, Kevin Howell of Port Jervis, N.Y.; sister, Angel Lindsley of the State of Georgia; four grandchildren, Brianna R. Knibbs, Alexander Joseph Andersen, Dylan Joseph Rummel, and Shawn Winner.

    The memorial service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, at Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Craigville Rd., Goshen, N.Y., with Military Honors to follow the service.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, N.Y.
