Margaret M. Fontan

Margaret M. Fontan of Honesdale died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center, Honesdale, Pa. She was 83.

Dughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Egan) Filkowski, she was born on March 6, 1932, in Yonkers, N.Y

Survivors include a son, Joseph Fontan and his wife, Josephine, of E. Stroudsburg, Pa.; daughter, Kathleen Gunderman and her husband, Jack, of Milford, Pa.; two brothers, Walter Filkowski of Georgia and Robert Filkowski of Colorado; sister-in-law, Lucy DeFelice of Florida; brother-in-law, Anthony Rattenni of New York; four grandchildren, Michael, Christine, Nicholas, and Kyle; and a great-granddaughter, Maiden.

A memorial service was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford on Jan. 3 with Deacon Joe LaCorte officiating. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers, N.Y., will be private and at the convenience of the family.
