Mary Ann Faber
Mary Ann (“Maryanne”) Faber of Middletown, N.Y., died peacefully on May 30, 2017, at Westchester Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was 72.
Daughter of the late Vito and Isabella Marcotrigiana Ilacqua, she was born on Sept. 18, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She married her lifelong love, C. Joseph Faber, on Oct. 23, 1965.
She worked as a registered nurse for 20 years for Middletown Psychiatric Center and then for Horton Hospital for another 20 years. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown.
Maryanne loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who created feasts for all to enjoy. She was delighted to share a 50th anniversary cruise with her family. She brought her energy to many things including bingo, line dancing and the Wawayanda Seniors (Pacers). She loved the Red Hatters and liked spending time at her second home in Florida. Her loving family will never be the same without her strong spirit and supportive presence.
In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by her sons, Joseph (Joe) Faber and his wife, Sherri, of Milford, Pa., Michael Faber and his wife, Cindy, of New Hampton, N.Y., and Anthony Faber and his wife, Keli, of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; sister, Diane of Middle Island, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Brenden and his wife, Hailey, Kalie, Rachel, Faith, Miranda, Emilia, and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandchild Alexis in 2000.
Visitation was held June 4 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Middletown. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on June 5 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Middletown. Following cremation, burial will take place in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
