Mary Grace Gordon
Mary Grace Gordon of Milford, Pa., died on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, N.J. She was 66.
Daughter of the late Shelton H. and Catherine (Monahan) Stewart, she was born on Jan. 27, 1951, in Brooklyn.
She was a language pathologist for Eldred Central School District, Eldred, N.Y.
She received her bachelors of science degree in speech language pathology at East Stroudsburg University and her masters of science in speech language pathology at James Madison University. During her 20-plus years of practice she helped and counseled hundreds of children in her own private practice, local non-profits and the public-school systems in the tristate area.
Survivors include her husband, Robert S. Gordon; children, Brad Michael Gordon and his wife, Mercedes, of Toms River, N.J., Daniel Robert Gordon of Milford, and Matthew Stewart and his wife, Suzanne, of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Seth, Brett, Madison, Chelsea, Gabriella and Skylar; brothers, Shelton Stewart and his wife, Patricia, of Coventry, Conn., and Timothy Stewart of Chester, N.Y.; sister, Deborah Nickerson and her husband, Roberto, of Huerta, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her brother Martin Stewart and sister-in-law Patricia Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, Pa. Services will be held on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luana Cook-Scott officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date.
