Richard Peter “Dick” Buck of Milford, Pa., died on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., with his family by his side. He was 71.
Son of the late Richard Buck and the late Marion Bury Buck, he was born March 14, 1945, in Jersey City, N.J.
He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy.
He married Maxine Akerley 23 years ago on Oct. 9, 1993, in Florida.
He had a long career in the grocery business.
A family statement read: “Dick had a lifelong devotion to his wife Maxine. He was a loving family man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Always quick with a joke or a funny story to share. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
Survivors include his beloved wife, Maxine Buck, at home; daughters, Heather Buck Seneca Falls, N.Y., Lorrie Coots and her husband, Alan Lake, of Huntington, N.Y., and Krista Perino and her husband, Kevin, of Milford, Pa.; sisters, Sandra Sloan and her husband, Bill, and Diane Evans and her husband, Harvey; brothers, Harvey Buck and his wife, Lillian, and Robert Buck and his wife, Nancy; brother-in-law, Ralph Shaw; grandchildren, Krystal Stephenson, Mackenzie Diaz and her husband, Jose, Gary James Millsaps and his wife, Brianna, Bradley Buck, Ryan Norris, Candace Perino, Callie Millsaps, Lauren Perino, Jena Buck, and Angelina Perino; great-grandchildren, Brantley Millsaps and Weston Millsaps; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Carrie Millsaps; and sister, Marilyn Shaw.
Visitation will be held at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Port Jervis, on Thursday, Feb. 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Cremation will be held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pa.
