Sandra L. Winters of Milford receives doctorate in nursing practice

MILFORD — Sandra L. Winters of Milford, Pa., on Jan. 24 graduated with her doctorate in nursing practice from Wilkes University.
She graduated from the University of Scranton with a master of science in nursing in 2003.
She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and nurse executive working collaboratively with Dr. John F. Fisher in his internal medicine practice in Sussex, N.J. In addition, she sees adult clients at Willowglen Academy and conducts monthly clinics at the Sussex County Health Department for the New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection Program. She also is employed by Your Physician Solutions, based in Eynon, Pa., which provides medical care in the client's home. She serves clients in Wayne and Pike counties in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Winters maintains membership in the American Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, and Sigma Theta Tau International (Honor Society of Nursing).
Her special interests are adolescent and women's health. She is certified as a sexual assault nurse examiner and certified preceptor for the Family Planning National Clinical Training Center.
Winters has published in nursing journals and serves on the Board of Directors of Safe Haven of Pike County.
