Zidek-Roa declares for supervisor

    SHOHOLA — Bettina Zidek-Roa has announced her candidacy for the office of Shohola Township supervisor. Bettina grew up in Shohola, graduated from Delaware Valley and continued on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She then worked as a hospital administrator at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for several years before returning home to help run her parent’s business and get back to the area where she grew up. Bettina works for a non-profit agency helping autistic and special needs children in schools and in the community. She lives on Bee Hollow Road with her husband Don Roa, her son, Justin, and two step-daughters, Caitlin and Samantha. Bettina is the organist at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Shohola, a past member of the church council, and has been a Sunday school teacher for the past 7 years. She has been involved in Youth Group activities, organized a community dance, community Easter egg hunts, and helped run Vacation Bible School for a number of years in Shohola and Greeley. She has been a Den leader for the Shohola Cub Scouts for five years, and a PAYAL football league cheerleading head coach. Bettina is a past secretary of the Shohola Elementary School PTA, and continues to be an active member. Bettina helped coordinate efforts between the Shohola PTA/parents and the Shohola Township Supervisors when fighting the Route A power lines path that threatened to cut through Shohola Township. Bettina is now interested in extending her strong commitment to community to the larger arena at the township level. She is an advocate of small business, and is dedicated to helping Shohola grow in a positive way, while still maintaining the pristine quality of life that Shohola residents have always enjoyed. Bettina is motivated, bright, and eager to serve her hometown.
