A friendly war of words for freshmen

WESTFALL n The fourth annual Delaware Valley High School freshman Word War took place on Friday, May 18. Approximately 56 ninth graders took place in the competition. Competitors were asked questions directly related to the vocabulary lessons that students completed throughout the school year. Students were asked questions from six different aspects of vocabulary: spelling, parts of speech, definitions, synonyms, and antonyms. This year’s winner was, Gregory Callaghan. Gregory is the son of Gregg and Andrea Callaghan of Matamoras. He is a student in Jacqueline Weston’s English class and his current teacher is Ryan Dippre.
