And don't forget under the rim

DINGMAN — The Dingman Supervisors on Tuesday took exception to a letter from the Pike County Board of Elections cautioning them about the cleanliness of bathrooms at township polling places. Supervisors Chairman Tom Mincer appeared visibly upset, saying “The bathrooms in our polling places are cleaned and sanitized before they are used by the public. I take offense to anyone that makes such a blanket statement which reflects directly on town employees. I hope this was a letter that was sent out to all the townships and not just Dingman.” Mincer dictated a response on the spot, directing Township Secretary Karen Kleist to respond and “Tell the Board of Elections our bathrooms are very clean and if this doesn’t meet up with their standards or needs maybe they can provide Port-A-Johns that will do a better job.” Still upset, he continued asking Kleist, “How come people just don’t pick up the phone anymore if there is a problem instead of sending a letter for such small matters?” The first November township supervisors meeting has been rescheduled, moved from Tuesday to Wednesday Nov. 7 because of Election Day.
