Beating the heat on the river

With temperatures flirting with three-digit figures, shady stops for boaters along the Delaware in Westfall became even more popular this week. Looking to clean up the debris from three major floods in the past 22 months, the National Park Service and area liveries and campgrounds are sponsoring a “Delaware River Cleanup Day” in the Water Gap area on Aug. 16. Canoes, paddles and life jackets will be provided for volunteers. For more information, call the hotline at 570-588-2478. (Photo by David Hulse)
