Biondo Foundation philanthropy honored by Camp Speers-Eljabar

Dingmans Ferry - Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA has recognized The Ingeborg A. Biondo Memorial Foundation for its outstanding commitment to special needs campers. Biondo Foundation Board member Joseph P. Biondo accepted an award on behalf of the Foundation at the camp’s recent 2006 Annual Meeting Dinner. The Biondo Foundation underwrites several summer camping programs for children with disabilities, including that at Camp Speers-Eljabar. With the Biondo Foundation’s contribution, the camp has been able to expand its summer day camp program to include developmentally, neurologically and physically challenged children. In 2005, 36 children with physical and mental disabilities took part in traditional summer day camp activities and programs.
