Biondos name Rivera as COO

Milford — Biondo Investment Advisors, LLC, has named Felix Rivera as chief operating officer (COO). “Felix has been in the financial industry for 20 years and has successfully managed people and projects the entire time, so the promotion to COO was a natural progression for us and for him,” said Joe Biondo, Sr. Felix began his career in 1988 at Shearson Lehman Brothers and was selected for the 1989 Management Training Program. In 1990 he was promoted to supervisor assistant vice president in the Tax Reporting/Dividend Department. In 1992 he was promoted to sections manager vice president in charge of Performance Monitoring for the Managed Accounts Department. In 1994 he was promoted to first vice president department manager of Managed Accounts Operations and the Gain/Loss departments. In 1998 he joined the Portfolio Management Group as a Marketing and Sales Director, where he was responsible for the West Coast and Northeast Divisions and was part of the three man team which raised $10 billion in two years. In 2001 he was promoted to senior vice president and chief technology officer for the Portfolio Management Group and was responsible for developing Performance Monitoring for all Smith Barney accounts over $8 million. In 2004 Felix left Smith Barney and was instrumental in the formation of Biondo Investment Advisors, LLC as an independent investment advisory firm. “Our business is growing and we are very excited to have Felix take on the day to day running of the business.
