Book sale yields $5,000 for library
MILFORD A record amount of books were sold at the recent Spring Library Book/Bake sale in Milford. The event, held at the American Legion Hall, yielded $5,124, according to Chairperson Ken Corcoran. “As usual, we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers who make the book sales a success year after year”, said Corcoran. ”We also thank all the shoppers who bought books to support the Library”. The sales, held twice yearly, are major fundraisers for the daily operation of the Pike County Public Library branches. Bake Sale chair Mary Quilici also thanked her volunteers. She and they raised $163.50 from the sale of donated baked goods. All Library branches are now accepting new donations of used books for the next sale, Sept. 11 and 12.
