Books helping make better homes

    MILFORD — Safe Haven board of directors and members of Rallying Youth Organizers Together (RYOT) held a book sale at the Milford American Legion Post #139 last Saturday. The purpose of the sale was to bring awareness of the services Safe Haven provides the community and to raise the funds for a college scholarship. The scholarship will go to a high school senior who resides in Pike County and plans on continuing their education in the field of human services. Kids from RYOT were on hand assisting children to make a free bookmark, doing face painting, selling baked goods and helping browsers in finding books in specific categories. “We have over a thousand books,” exclaimed Cindy Stine, RYOT Youth Later in April, RYOT will be at the Delaware Valley High School performing at 1 p.m. in an interactive sociodrama presentation dealing with emotions on various relationship situations.” “Listen for a Change: A Family Weekend,” will be held the weekend of April 24 and 25, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be guest speakers and continuous free workshops throughout the day.
