Breakfast Book Club at Shohola

SHOHOLA All students from Kindergarten through 6th grade this spring were invited to join Shohola Elementary School’s Breakfast Book Club for the second year. Parent volunteers guided the 43 members through five morning sessions. These sessions included discussions and fun activities about the chosen book before school over breakfast. This club’s goals were designed to help each member meet their reading requirements for that grading period, offer a reading challenge when necessary, guide those who struggle when reading, help foster the love of reading, and to lead innovative book discussions. This year’s final session was a family movie event, presenting, “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler,” which was also a book selection that was earlier used for the 5th and 6th grade group.
