Builder is packaging the American Dream

LORDS VALLEY — Putting the house and car into one package, a Pike County builder is teaming up two flagging industries to make a more saleable whole. “We offer what everybody wants and that’s why we sell homes while others don’t,” said Bill Brottman at the recent grand opening of Pike Ridge Homes, Inc. “They get a three bedroom home, two bathrooms, two car garage, full basement, a car getting 35 to 42 miles per gallon and everything is brand new. All for one great price,” reported Brottman. Pike Ridge homes sell from $179,000 to $350,000 including a central station home alarm system. “Our average home price is $225,000 complete,” said Brottman. Brottman got the idea for this marriage of land, home and car when he bought his second home back in 1989. He was offered the same triple deal but took a $17,000 credit instead of the new car. Brottman, owner and builder of Pike Ridge Homes, Inc. took over an empty store in Hemlock Plaza across from Mr. Z’s supermarket in Jan., 2008. It took several months to make the store look like a builder’s office and display some of the Pike Ridge Home features. There’s a kitchen, bathroom, samples of cabinets and plumbing fixture choices as well as a cutout section of how the full basement is constructed and insulated. Outside the store was a brand new 2008 Toyota Yaris on display which is the free car given to home buyers. The Yaris is a good looking compact car capable of getting 42 miles to the gallon. “Yes, it will really get that kind of mileage,” said Colleen Ann Chiarello from Toyota World of Newton, NJ. Chiarello was at the Grand Opening to help with the promotion. “We’re offering a fixed 6.5% to 6.75% rate on a 30 year mortgage with only 3% to 10% down,” stated Senior Loan Officer Fred Basiago from Gateway Funding of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Basiago was there to answer financing questions from interested home buyers. “We’re only officially open a month and I’ve sold nine homes. I sold two in New Jersey and seven in Dingman Township,” claimed Brottman. Brottman told the Courier that while the real estate market is down if you give value and quality you make sales. There were food and beverages on hand for the Grand Opening and potential customers were filtering in slowly but steadily. Brottman was pleased with the turnout and was energetic, helpful and smiling all the time. For more information, call Pike Ridge Homes, Inc. 877 745-3743 or Brottman’s cell phone 201 522-1318.
