Buying on state contracts for business

    SCRANTON — MetroAction and the Hawley Chamber of Commerce, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, the Southern Wayne Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to provide a free seminar on how your business can pursue contract opportunities with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Pa. Department of General Services purchases more than $4.5 billion in goods and services each year and establishes procurement policy/procedures for most commonwealth agencies. This seminar will cover the following topics: Discover whether the state buys what you sell, learn how state government purchases goods and services, know where to find state business opportunities, explore government programs to help small businesses, find out about certifications for minority and women-owned businesses, and more.
