MILFORD — The United Way of Pike County says they are fortunate to have Joseph Casmus join its volunteer board of directors. For over 30 years, Casmus has been involved with the youth of our County. He has been a guidance counselor, assistant principal, director of support programs, and, for the last 11 years, the 11/12 principal of Delaware Valley High School. He is also the married father of three and recently became a grandfather. Casmus first became involved with United Way five years ago when he became an integral part of helping out with the annual Day of Caring. “Joe’s enthusiasm and follow through were vital to the United Way’s efforts. There wasn’t a thing we asked of him that he didn’t do his best to provide,” said Sue Robbins, United Way co-chair of the day. “I’m so thrilled that he will be a part of our Board,” Christine Obser, United Way president said. “I’ve enjoyed working with Joe on so many projects, he is just such a logical and fitting choice for our board. We are lucky to have him!” For his part, Casmus says, “After years of helping out with Day of Caring and seeing the positive results of what United Way does, I’m eager to join the board. Being in touch with the youth of this county the way I am, I know the importance of United Way’s mission and see the impact of many of the programs it supports on our youth.” Those interested in making a donation may call the United Way office at 570-296-9980.
