Cellular One donates to Pike disabilities center

Blown away’ exec had to help the Center for Developmental Disabilities MILFORD Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania granted a charitable donation of $3,000 to The Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County, Ltd. (CDD) on June 3. This generous contribution will help fund CDD’s innovative educational and therapeutic programs for children with developmental disabilities, and allow CDD to continue providing many children with the services they need to learn basic motor and communication skills. Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania is the most extensive cellular network provider in the Wayne/Pike region. How did this regional carrier learn about and become so intrigued by Pike County’s own Center for Developmental Disabilities? According to Erwin Guberman, sales manager for Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania, the company became interested in CDD at their 12th annual Chef’s Do Dinner, on March 23. “After attending the annual event and seeing their slideshow presentation, I was thoroughly blown away. I presented it to our people to say we needed to become a part of the important work that CDD does,” said Guberman. For more than 40 years, the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County, Ltd. has provided educational, therapeutic, and family support services for children with developmental delays and disabilities from birth to kindergarten age. They offer an inclusion program serving typical children with an expertise in serving children with developmental delays and disabilities, and remain the only Department of Public Welfare licensed early education center that provides Early Intervention services in Pike County, PA.
