CENSUS RECRUITERS MEET AT RAY-N-CHARLES DELI.

The US Census is looking for hundreds of applicants in Pike County and they say local residents are joining the team. Pictured from the left are: Brigitte Hanley, Karen Harvey and Akraam Khalid. All three Pike residents met recently with Charlie Spano, assistant manager of recruiting (right) from the Scranton office to discuss goals and recruiting efforts to get Pike residents to join the decennial effort. Anyone seeking extra money is invited to call 866-861-2010 to register for a simple test of basic skills or go to the website http://2010.census.gov or call the Scranton office directly at 570-903-6021. Hundreds will be hired at field pay rates between $11 and $14 per hour plus mileage reimbursal. Multiple language skills are a plus.
