Chester-The Chester Historical Society will hold a penny social on Friday, Sept. 10, at the Golden Age Senior Center, located in the rear of the Chester Public Library at 1794 King's Highway. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and calling will begin at 7 p.m. A donation of $2 includes admission, refreshments, door prizes, and 25 ballots. There will be many specials (including, at this time, many vacuum bag face covers). Norma Stoddard and Debbie Vadala are chairing the penny social. Georgina Robillard is in charge of refreshments. To donate new items to this fundraiser, call 469-4674. The historical society will use the proceeds to continue the restoration work on the 1915 Erie Railroad Station in downtown Chester.
