Children's art auction benefits library programs

    MILFORD — The Friends of the Children’s Room of Pike County Public Library are offering a Children’s Art Auction fundraiser, benefiting children’s programming at the library. The children’s art auction will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Milford, in Milford on Sunday, Aug. 2. The event will begin at 3 p.m. with an Art Preview Reception. Families attending may admire art to be auctioned while enjoying light refreshments. Auctioneer and former Friends’ president Ryan Balton will begin the bidding at 3:30 p.m. All art will begin with a $5 minimum bid. Friendly family out-bidding is encouraged. The cost to attend is $2 a person. Displayed artists attend for free. The Friends is a membership organization open to all children and their families who use library services. The Friends was founded in 1996 with a mission to supplement the personnel and funding for children’s library services across the county.
