Coat drive keeps the warmth
MILFORD The fifth annual winter coat drive is over, but the help that will ensue has just begun. Each year the United Way of Pike County teams up with Wachovia Bank and the Bushkill Outreach Program to collect as many winter coats as possible. The coats are donated to the outreach program, and in turn distributed to the Pike County residents who need them. Christine Obser, President of The United Way was on the scene to lend a helping hand to Valerie Seitz of Wachovia, as she loaded the Bushkill Outreach truck with bags full of coats. “Every year this coat drive is a huge success. This is something that directly helps people during the winter months. I am glad that the United Way can be a part of it.” Obser stated. While most of the coats were donated to the Bushkill Outreach Program, a portion of them were also given to the Pike County Human Development office which is run by Obser. If you or anyone you know is in need of a winter coat, call the Human Development Office at 570-296-3434.
