Commission approves bridge funding

    MORRISVILLE - The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission this week approved $18.5 million for the rehabilitation of the Milford-Montague Toll Bridge. The decision was part of the commission’s 2007 capital plan, which authorizes funding for projects under the commission’s capital improvement program. All told, the Commission’s 2007 capital spending plan programs $412 million for ongoing and future capital projects. Projected capital expenditures for 2007 are $139.6 million. Other programmed costs for major capital projects included: • $87.9 million for the rehabilitation of seven miles of I-78 within the Commission’s jurisdiction and the implementation of Open Road Tolling at the I-78 Bridge; • $102.5 million for the rehabilitation and widening of the Trenton Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge; For more information about the Commission and its various initiatives to deliver safer and more convenient bridge travel for its customers, see: www.drjtbc.org.
